The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) expresses its deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district, which has affected Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other districts.
In this hour of crisis, the FNJ strongly urges the Government to mobilize all state mechanisms, giving the highest priority to the safety and security of citizens in the flood-affected areas.
The FNJ also urges all concerned authorities and stakeholders to make every possible effort from their respective areas to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured, immediately rescue those stranded in the floods, and intensify the search for those who remain missing. The FNJ requests all media outlets and journalists to contribute to and support these efforts.
The FNJ also appeals to all journalists and media organizations to exercise safety precautions, adhere to journalistic codes of conduct, and disseminate accurate and factual information and news.
The FNJ extends its heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in the floods and wishes all the injured a speedy recovery.
