The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to provide immediate relief and assistance to journalists and journalists’ families affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.

An amount of NPR 100,000 each will be provided to the families of Tek Raj Thami, a member of the Naya Patrika branch and former central member of the Federation, who remains out of contact; Shekhar Dhungana, former advisor of the Bhaktapur branch; and Raj Kumar Nepali, a member of the Nuwakot branch.

Likewise, NPR 100,000 in financial assistance will be provided to Nirajan Paudel, a member of the Rasuwa branch, who has lost both his family and home.

Regarding other affected journalists and media outlets, assistance will be distributed accordingly after preparing criteria based on the damage data, details and needs received through the concerned district branches of the Federation.

Similarly, the Federation urges its members who wish to participate in the relief effort to deposit their contributions into the Disaster Relief Fund of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.
