The Federation of Nepali Journalists has drawn the attention of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) to the threat of physical attack against journalist Raju Subedi based on the news he wrote.
The Federation Kathmandu branch has stated that Subedi has received threats on social media and phone calls in response to the news about the distribution of Nepali citizenship to a person holding Indian citizenship.
Threatening journalists by disagreeing parties without seeking redress according to the prevailing law is condemnable and a crime against press freedom.
The Federation draws the attention of the concerned bodies to immediately identify those involved in the threat and bring them to justice.
