The attention of the Federation of Nepali Journalists has been drawn to the incident where Narayan Prasad Regmi, Chief/Joint Secretary of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Pokhara, prohibited journalists from taking videos at a public program.

The Federation's Tanahun branch has stated that Regmi's speech was prohibited from being taken during a program organized at the assembly hall of Byas Municipality, Tanahun on Chaitra 24.

This kind of interference with the freedom of journalists by a responsible official of a constitutional body while they are performing their constitutional duty of keeping the citizens informed is highly condemnable and against press freedom.

The Federation draws the attention of the concerned bodies to prevent such acts from being repeated in the future, taking into account the constitutional freedom and rights of the press.
