The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed grave concern over the incident where journalist Kamal Bohora was beaten and injured.

According to the Kathmandu Branch of the Federation, Bohora, the editor of Palika Samay Dotcom, sustained injuries to his face, hands, and legs when a group assaulted him at around 9:00 PM last night (June 7 / Jeth 24) regarding a news report on financial irregularities.

The Federation wishes a speedy recovery to the injured journalist Bohora.

Resorting to physical assault against a journalist instead of seeking remedies through established legal procedures if unsatisfied with a news report is an act against press freedom.

The Federation strongly condemns this incident and demands that the concerned authorities immediately identify the group involved and bring them to justice.
