The Federation of Nepali Journalists has taken serious note of the statement made on social media by Lal Bahadur Khati, an Internal Auditor working at Jayaprithvi Municipality in Bajhang, targeting journalist Bhuvan Bahadur Singh.

According to the Federation's Bajhang Branch, Khati made the statement with the intention of defaming and damaging the reputation of Singh, who is also the editor of Saipal Khabar Dot Com, in connection with the online portal's news report titled "The Overnight Rs. 1 Million Allowance Scandal," published on July 15, 2026.

The Federation condemns this tendency of questioning an individual's character instead of seeking redress through due legal process if there are objections to a news report.

The Federation urges the concerned authorities to investigate the incident and take action against those found responsible.
